Jason is a landscape and portrait photographer based out of Castle Rock, Colorado.

No defining moments of a 3 year old who picked up a camera and was instantly mesmerized here. Jason is a engineer, scientist, explorer, entrepreneur, and wanderer. Wandering is what started all this photography “stuff” with his dad’s old Nikon film camera and some pretty terrible pictures.

But those terrible pictures got a little better. Then a little better still and eventually a weekend gobbling hobby became a man chasing gear, then chasing some dollars and eventually chasing the light.

Landscape photography can be an amazingly compelling experience. What many people see as “a place”, see it and go, a photographer can see infinite possibility. Every time the clouds shift or the sun moves, light pours down on a subject in a way that it never has and never will again. Subtle, yet awe inspiring. Landscape photographers live in the saying, “No man ever steps in the same river twice.”

Years after starting to chase the light, Jason wandered into fatherhood and all the challenges and blessings that come with it. Landscapes were no longer the only subjects to photograph, touched by light. Jason’s amazing wife has given him 4 delightful children, each with their own quirks and personality. Thankfully they are all at least semi-tolerant of their father’s passion.
